COPPA Compliance Policy

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was enacted in 1998 by the US congress. The primary goal of COPPA is to allow parents to have control over what information is collected from their young children online. On July 1, 2013, a new rule concerning COPPA went into effect. The new rule applies to operators of commercial websites directed to children under 13 that collect, use, or disclose personal information from children. Because we do not engage in any such collection use or disclosure, this website is exempt from certain COPPA regulations, including the parental permission requirements.

If you require any more information or have any questions about our COPPA Compliance Policy, please feel free to contact us by email. This website takes privacy seriously and is committed to complying with the law. We do this in two ways.

First, this website is not directed to children under 13. COPPA applies only to websites directed to children in whole or in part. The latter refers only to those websites which have a portion of the site directed to children. The USAW Membership is not directed to children, nor does it have a section directed to children. Although it may at times discuss content of interest to children, this content is presented for adult parents to discuss with their children. Second, our users are age 13 and older.

We require that all users be thirteen (13) years of age or older. If any person is known to us to be under thirteen (13) years of age, that person’s account will be deleted and not stored in any manner. Registration by a user certifies the user is age 13 or older.
